My 55 F600 is named Sweet old Bessie. When I bought her over 20 years ago the guy I bought her from had given it a man's name, I can't remember what now. Looking at her voluptuous body with all the big curvy parts just didn't seem right as a guy, way too sexy looking. Anyways I feel trucks, cars, tractors should be of the female gender as they should be treated with love, respect, and spent a lot of time with and spent a lot of money on just like a fine lady. So Bessie seemed appropriate for my big girl.

So far my old 49 doesnt have a name. I've had other vehicles that had names, but so far nothing for my 49.
I had a 1967 Charger that all my friends dubbed "The Sled"
my 66 Plymouth Satellite didn't have a name
I had a 1969 F-250 that was call "Ralph Porter"
My 1959 Ranchero got dubbed "The Batmobile"
Sometimes a vehicle just aquires a name I guess

Hello again, it's a good thing that I am more faithful to my wife of 39 years than I am to MARILYN! i still haven't got quite comfortable with that name. After seeing the various names here I have my doubts with my choice.
I think this wishy washiness may be the real reason it took so long to take the plunge and finally buy something, although my wife has often said that because I want things to be just how I want it or I am not happy, and often I end up with nothing.
After reading Johnnydevil55's post I thought of one of my all time favourite singers, so the latest contender is JERRY LEE (as in Lewis boogie) I'm still running it around in my head but maybe.................

When I first got mine in the early '80s, I was helping an uncle of mine restore a '31 Model A. We were drinking coffee and turning wrenches one weekend and he commented that the grille on the truck looked like beaver teeth. I told the story to the guy who is doing the restomod and he said that we were going to turn it into a BadAss Beaver...curvy body...big headlights!

When I first got on this site and it asked for a handle, I used part of my middle name Mervyn and added the year of my truck. Coinsidently, my truck came off the assembly line the same month I did (according to the numbers). When I refer to it now, my wife says mervy49? I have a couple other trucks so this identifies the 49. Earl.

Havent really settled on a name for the 56 yet but I'm leaning towards a mans name. Usually my trucks have a mans name when they are working well and then suddenly when they have a problem that I have to fix they turn back into a woman on me... hmmm.
I had a 1995 F-150 we called the Rialto Cadillac. Wish I hadn't sold that truck
