Windshield dash vent removal?

Well I managed to loose a lense out of my glasses, down the vent opening on the driver's side of the dash.
So how hard is the proceedure to get to the vent to remove it so I can get my lense out of it.
Thanks in advance.

you mean the whole bezel around the cluster that have the air vents. the whole thing should just pop off but be careful with it if your not gentle you will brake the tabs off holding it on like i did just pull the edges real slow and smooth.

Nope. I mean the vent on top of the dash. The defroster vents.
How much work is involved with getting to the vent and removing it, so I can get my lense out of it?

Oh jeez i think the whole dash has to be pulled or at least most of the top and side screws to pull it down some

If you take out the instrument cluster, you might be able to get to the duct work, I don't know...
If not, you'd have to remove the whole dash assembly. Try this thread:

If it were me, I'd buy new glasses before taking a dash out again...

I actually have new glasses coming, but they are a week to two weeks out.
I'm wearing my glasses with only one lense, luckly it's my stronger eye that doesn't have the lense, so at least I'm not totally blind.

I happen to have a dash all apart laying in the shed, if you like I can take some pictures post them give you an idea what you're looking at.

Small chance you can pop the "floor" right / left diverter off (it just snaps in place IIRC), fish up into the tubing from there and get your lens out fairly easy.

Off top if my head thinking because its the drivers side defrost vent it went down just might get it that way without tearing it all apart.

Duct tape a few feet of garden hose, or a couple of feet of some smaller tubing (I usually have some handy for siphoning, etc.) into the end of your shop vac hose, doesn't have to be fancy, heck, you can even have a helper just make that small tubing to your shop vac hose connection with a red rag sealing the two. Snake the free end of the small tubing down into your defrost ducts and snag your wayward lens.

Redneck liposuction.

This basic trick can be modified a thousand of different ways for all sorts of uses. You can also it to retrieve very small items by letting a cut off leg of the ole lady's pantyhose suck into the shop vac hose to act as a catch net for the tiny item you are after.

Next discussion... Redneck Mity Vac by using compressed air...
