oil drain plug gasket

What size is that flipping metal gasket that goes on the drain plug? I didn't have any more last oil change and now it's pooping drops of oil on my driveway. I sure don't like oil stains.

They're M14. I bought mine from Rock Auto in a pack of 25. They were like 50 cents a piece in bulk like that.

It's listed under Engine on their website, or just search for oil drain plug gasket under the F250 7.3 section.

I never have. It would take way too much beer waiting on 15 quarts of oil to drain out the little hole in those things. I also drive through a lot of tall grass and such and would be too scared of something getting hung up on the little ****.

The ones that have them seem to love them though.

Yeah, I kind of share those feelings. I could deal with the slower drain but my truck isn't exaclty a street queen and I'd hate to break it off in the middle of nowhere.

I installed one with my last oil change also the donaldson filter. The fumoto seemed like it defiantly could be a concern for those that off road, with my 2wd I am pretty safe. The reason I changed was the plug was leaking just a little around it and I knew it would only get worse. I also noticed the fumoto being brass didn't have the magnetic advantage of the old plug. It's a great time to have another beer though.

Fumoto valves on both of my rigs. I do remove it after most of the oil has drained. I got a dozen gaskets at no charge from the distributor.

Pete, I must be missing something, I read this post a couple of times. You say you have Fumoto valves on two rigs but you remove it after most of the oil has drained, why? I bought the fumoto so I wouldn't have to remove it, and not need to worry about replacing the plug gaskets. I also thought another advantage was not having to worry about the pan threads stripping out and having to replace the pan, I sure wouldn't want to deal with that nightmare.

The units threads go up to high to let all the oil drain. I change oil when its hot. The Fumoto makes it a little easier on the fingers and makes less of a mess. I'm clumsy. LOL

Just what I do Rich.

Is there some super tricky way to get the plug out and slip something in there so I can sap out the gasket? The dripping oil is making me angry but I don't want to waste a lot freshish oil either.

Hahaha! Yep, Jose. **** is spelled the same whether talking about someone who is a perfectionist or the end of your GI tract.
