This is prolly a 1 page thread at most
Monty, I "understand" the hatred toward the police right now (No way the reason is an excuse for the hatred though). Why are the scum pissed off at medics? There was a story on our local news yesterday about several firefighters vehicles being ransacked while the station was away on a call. It seems to me that the people they are screwing with are the same ones they are going to call for help when their stupidity causes them injury or burns their houses down. Stay safe out there and keep your head on a swivel. Are you guys allowed to carry on the job?
No sir, we are not 'allowed' to carry on the job by policy...but this is the south and I am almost positive it happens

Nice pic Roy - I like your cowboy and redneck differences....
Monty - Be safe out there, I know plenty of FF's that carry on the job. And even some private EMTs have one nearby. Might be against company policy, but at least you will be alive to fight it. Rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6.
In some states (Not the South) they are trained and supposed to carry, they even where bullet proof vests. Recently, in my old department they swat trained some fire rescue folks - they go with us on the high risk stuff. We've had a couple of officer saved because fire rescue was on a call down the street or on the same call, so it made sense.

Roy, your family pic was "awww" inspiring.
Monty, when my brother worked for San Antonio and a service for a neighboring county, "policy" was that they were not allowed to carry and that if they found themselves in a situation that had the potential for getting nasty to wait for police. What ACTUALLY happened though, was most of them carried and never discussed it with anyone.
Brett, we got enough rain here in the last week to refill Lake Meade. Come get some of it.
My baby and I went shooting earlier. She still did well at 10m, but needs to work on her 30m shooting a bit more. My son declined to go this time. I suspect it's because he's scared of being shown up by his baby sister. He says he was too busy. I didn't have any .45acp ammo this morning and no time to try to go buy some, so I took the 9mm for her to shoot. She likes the 9 ok, but really prefers the .45. No pics - but it did happen.
Stay safe out there gents.

Hi One Pagers...
Just a quick check in. We had our family Christmas this past weekend. Had all the kids & grand-kids at the house Saturday & Sunday.
Traveled back offshore today, landed on the platform to 50 mph winds & 8 - 10 ft seas. I'll be out here for the next 14 days.
Yes I'm a Mississippi Red-Neck - mines named "BIG BLUE".....
Mitch - Glad to see you back.
Roy - Great Christmas picture
Tim - When is the wife going to take the muzzle off of you...Another great Christmas picture
Doug, Gerry, Darren, Dak, Andre, Brent, Steve, Troy and everyone else be safe out there....
