To lift or not to lift
#16
^^ I like the way this guy thinks lol. Id go ahead with a little lowering though. Maybe an inch in the front and 1.5" in the rear. If you can afford it... lifting/lowering can get expensive lol. And if your going sport truck, then get some lower profile tires instead of goin up in size. Maybe some low pro ATs if your still wanting some grip?

Don't lower a 4wd truck and put lo-pro tires on it. If you do the communists win. 'merica.
If you do a 1-2" suspension lift you can usually get away with not lowering the T-beam mounts in the middle. You can achieve this inexpensively with coil spring spacers and rear lift blocks. You'll probably have to relocate the brake lines lower so your hoses won't be too short but it's very easy. I would advise some kind of kit since it will probably have all the little bits you might need like brackets for relocating the brake lines and in some cases a spacer to lower the carrier bearing on the drive shaft. Or look for a leveling kit which will only lift the front to match the back.

The only thing I hate worse than a lowered 4x4, is a 4x4 with lo-pros on it. Hard to get any sidewall flex on a tire when there's hardly any sidewall. In any case, if its that tough of a decision, you probably don't want to lift it. If it doesn't look just like you want you'll just regret it.
