302 throttle linkage

I have a '50 F2 with a 302/C4 swap. I am trying to figure out the best way to run the throttle linkage, carb to gas pedal. I found an old thread but Julies pics are no longer available.

Anyone else who has made this swap have some pictures? Did you retain the original gas pedal?

Apparently, what Julie did was "... braze an extension on the lower left side that sticks up as high on the left as the right side does, and hooked a lengthened adjustable solid rod from it to my Edelbrock 750.". I understand what is described but would love to see pics of this or other setup.

Thanks.

I ended up scrapping the original pedal and went with a Lokar pedal and cable assembly. The only hard part was putting a hole in the floor for the lever on the back of the pedal...not to hard, but everything else was pretty easy. The cable came with good fittings to attach the cable to the carb, and brackets for the throttle return springs (springs included too).

I had a 302/c4 setup at one time, I used the stock gas pedal, if I remember correctly I heated and bent the end of the gas pedal to line up with the carb, had to make a few adjustments to get the carb to open up all the way, used a piece of rod threaded on each end to connect the carb to the pedal. I'll see if I can dig up a picture.

I had what 55F250 did then I did what old dan did, because it s not only clean especialy in combo with there kick down cabel. If you do a search on gas pedal linkage then click on web/img (on gray bar), then click img there are 10 pages of set ups. Julies may be in there i dont know

I just found a picture of my old linkage that was hooked up to the stock pedal set up. Note The new cabel set up gave me more room between the brake and gas pedals, wich was a plus. I hope this helps .

I used a more modern pedal box from a miata (brake & gas pedals), then used a lokar kit for the throttle cable and kickdown linkage. You can get a universal braided cable if you go down this route which you cut down to the correct length to match your pedal setup and carb linkage brackets. Mine works a treat and I got some nice pedal covers to match the other bits in my interior as well.
