If you want I can measure but I think the forward edge of the blades is only an inch forward of the mounting flange face.
So you're saying that I should just mount the fan solid to the water pump pulley? I hadn't even thought of that.

Sure, especially if you want to get a shroud in there. This is the fan I got.
You'd have the pulley on the shaft first, then the fan.

I went out and measured it, it's 2" from the mounting face to the forward edge of the tips.

Thanks Ross. Ill have to wait until I get my pullies and the radiator I'm gonna use and see what size spacer I will need to mount the fan to.

So i had to get the truck out of the garage again, but this tie i kicked myself out. Moved the truck to the garage at home so its safe and out of the weather. I had planned for a while to do the rear spring hangers and shackles and limited slip clutches in the rear on the dd. Glad i did this now because they wouldnt have last more than a few weeks, and would have broken if i had put a decent load in the bed. I broke the one hanger in half just trying to get the bolt loose with the breaker bar. A drip seemed to start out of nowhere on the rear tank as well as i was working on it so i have to tackle that as well. I think next year im gonna take the bed off and paint the frame because its starting to get pretty bad, especially where the hitch mounts to the frame.

It has the normal rust in the wheel wells, but yeah for 215,000 miles in the northeast, the body isnt in bad shape.

Hey Nick, your project is looking really great! I was wondering if you have pics of your seat belt mounts, particularly the third point, up on the cab. Thanks!

I can take some when i get home tonight. I dont have the floor mounts in yet, but the shoulder mount is just a piece of 3/16 inch plate that i welded a nut to the back of and welded into the channel that goes above and below the rear window.

So i just got home from buying a pickup bed and rear fenders for my truck. It has some rust, but is a lot better than mine. Even the fenders are in pretty good shape. Needs a bed floor, but i have to modify it any to fit over my frame notch.

Here are pictures from the craigslist add
