Question on Airbag on my 55' F100
I decided to install a Mustang II front end and Thunderbird IRS. Everything is just about done but I was questioning where I should place the generator, valves, and tank for the air ride system. I already removed the gas tank and am going to build a custom one for the rear and I was thinking about putting my air tank where the gas tank used to go and place the valves and generater next to where the battery goes. The frame of the truck will still be lower than all of the components. Any ideas or thoughts before I start building a box for the generator and valves?

The space where your gas tank went under the cab is a perfect place for all of your air ride stuff.
Unless your cycling the air bags constantly or have an air leak somewhere in the system, the compressor will only operate every once in a while to maintain tank pressure so compressor noise in the cab should be minimal, especially if you have some good sound dampening mat under your interior carpet.
I just finished a 50 F1 and the air system is frame mounted right under the driver seat and you don't hear the compressor run unless the windows are down. I guess thats a testament for dyna-mat which covers the cab floor under the carpet.

one air line runs to the tank and one air line runs back towards the rear bags. the tank drain is mounted towards the front of the truck,
almost even with the door hinge.
the electric fuel pump is also frame mounted on the inner side of the boxed frame right there too. So on fresh startup (after a week), you might hear something, but its not really noticable. I have a tiny leak that I haven't found, but its days to leak down.
