Well as the title says, I'm looking at putting a manual in my truck and I found an F250 that has a 460 and a 5 speed and I was wondering if the tranny would bolt straight up to my 351W? Thanks

 

No.

351w same as 302, 300 six all other SBF post '65.

460 same as 370/429 and 335 series 351m/400.

Ford has about 300,000 bell housing patterns. One of the top ten reasons people run Chevalays.

 

So then if I could find a bellhousing that fits a 351W, than that would work right?

 

Those transmissions are all one piece. The bell is integral to the case, and unless you want to do machine work and welding, you can't change the bell. (You'd have to find another trans with that bell anyway)

You need to find a trans with the SBF pattern for your 351w.

 

Ok I will keep my eyes open then for one mounted behind a 351W. Also thanks for the help.
