96 F-350 7.3 losing power and won't respond to pedal

Yes i pulled 2 codes yesterday p0603, p1211. The 603 is showing from having unhooked the batteries.
DTC P1211 indicates that injection control pressure was above or below commanded desired pressure during self test mode.
Possible causes:
incorrect oil or viscosity
poor oil quality
gel fuel/no fuel
low fuel pressure
damaged IPR valve
high-pressure oil system leak
damaged high-pressure oil pump
damaged PCM

well there you go. may be the IPR like you planned to do next. could be the HPOP going as well, but replacing the IPR first is the only way to determine that.
how long has it been since your last oil change, though? i had some IPR blow-by (or whatever you want to call it), and oil change fixed it right up. i was running Shell Rotella T3 15W-40 and this happened right at 3000 miles on the oil. i've since changed to Mobil Delvac 15W-40 and the problem has not come back - even when i've gone past 3000, for what its worth...

it was a yr ago when I had so much trouble and yes after my oil got broke down about 800 to 1000 mile my CEL would come on but when I changed oil then everything worked like new until I 800 or so miles it was weard because I put a temperature gage on it and that oil run very very hot after I changed the IPR I can run 4000 5000 miles to an oil change and it never gets hot or brakes down it took a long time to figure out what was wrong.

If I remember the P1211 was giving us same reading and it was because the IPR was not right to me that is a crazy reading it should tell you why you get that reading and it doesen't

once we put in the new IPR valve that solved all the oil problems I just wish the scanner would of showed that was the problem before I put in so much other stuff that did not need changing
I now have a problem with the water running to hot and have replaced things that did not fix the problem I figured I would go to a different form for that problem just have not had time to do that yet.

interesting. and that's where i am - trying to not just start changing stuff without being sure of what the exact problem is.
i still don't think my problem is HPOP-related as i dont get any codes, but it seems like that may be Thood's issue.
i'm starting to think my issue is tranny related (i've started a separate thread for this approach), as my RPMs do climb when i step on the pedal, the truck just doesnt go. with the issue you guys had/are having, your RPM's did not go up when you wanted them to, right? and does the engine run rough at all or still sound normal when its happening?

Well it veries with mine, one time it will have no throttle response (no rpm movement) and the next time it will gain rpm's but only very slowly, nothing like it should. I have a 5 speed in my truck and I can put in in neutral and the rpm's hardly move. As far as the engine running rough. Mine seems to run and sound fine even while the the CEL is on.

My 96 is having similar issues. It will start and run fine and even drive for a while with no problem. Then out of nowhere the CEL will come on and I loose power and throttle response. I've changes the ICP and CPS and even swaped the PCM with a buddy's truck that I know his PCM is good. Still having the same issues. I will try the IPR valve next and see if that does the trick
