Ought to be fun. But, I hope I'm out of town then. My best friend lives in NM and battled cancer 5 years ago. While he won the battle, it killed the nerves on one side of his face and left him blind in one eye, deaf in one ear, and not able to control that side of his mouth.

He's been getting good check-ups, but a week ago he was suddenly unable to talk or write. No warning. It turns out a different cancer has gotten into his brain, and it is terminal. With drugs he can now talk and write, but he can't always come up with the words he wants to use, so there is obviously something serious going on. Given that, we are hoping to get out to see them ASAP but obviously have to wait until things settle down with family, doctors, etc.

I say all that to say that we need to live our lives as if there's no tomorrow. His sudden, absolutely over-night problem is a wake-up call to me.

Very true Gary. I got my wake up call back in 98, when I woke up without any feeling in my legs, and couldn't stand, much less walk. It's not terminal, but the same thing could happen again at any time, without warning. Could be temporary again, or not.

I said that, to say this. I may not win next weekend, but the fact that I am able to compete, is close enough to a win for me. I'd love to win, or at least place well, but being there is what matters most.
It's not everyday that a broke down old guy like me has a chance to compete for any kind of National Championship, so I'm gonna give my best, and see what the outcome is. No regrets later in life that way.......

Okay, the last few weeks i've noticed a spotlight rotating thru the sky. It seems to be in the direction of Skiatook or Sperry. Does anybody know what the heck it is for and where it is shining from? Even tonight i see that bright light shining thru the sky as i'm looking for the meteor shower. (FYI, i saw my first meteor falling from the sky at 2am this morning. Saw it from the back porch facing south. Really neat thing to see.)

Skiatook reporting in. No light seen here, but I can't really see toward town due to the trees, which still have most of their leaves, oddly enough.

Goodmornin all. Hope everyone is getting to enjoy this mild fall weather. I know i sure am. I have been riding my moto to work almost every day with this great weather.

Dont forget to put yer clocks back one hour this weekend. It's fall back time.

And happy first day of Open Carry In Oklahoma. Be safe if you do. I will still conceal mine. I dont want to be the first target of the bad guys.

Nope, no hunting. But, that looks like a good kill.

Think I'll take the truck up to see Dad tomorrow. Supposed to be another beautiful day.

Gary I don't wear a bow tie and never will. This truck is taking up the space needed to separate the body from the frame on the bronco.
