Turn indicator noise is annoyingly loud

Is it just me or does anybody else think the turn indicator is annoyingly loud? Does the small speaker under the dash make all the tones for dash functions, including the blinker noise? I'm tempted to put a piece of sound deadening foam over that little sucker.

I rode around in my buddies '12 F150 and I never noticed the indicator noise. But, the truck I drive for work has a noisy turn indicator so I'm used to it. I also like the noise because then I know if the turn signal doesn't shut off.

I won't get used to it.

Actually, the whole blinker strategy is poorly executed in my opinion. The sounds are too loud. The timed lane change feature is too short and was made for people that dart around without warning, so I just end up holding it in place during my entire lane change. And it takes twice as many strokes on the stalk to change lanes quickly in city traffic when you have to turn opposite directions is succession. In the effort to make things more simple Ford really just made it more difficult and less user friendly. I spend more time making blinker commands now then I ever did with a conventional blinker stalk.

I have to admit that I find the noise helpful. I never forget about the turn signal. Wouldn't it be nice if it blinked longer, though?

If you are doing that just click it down hard enough and it will stay on until you shut it off.

The noise is not a speaker under the dash, The noise is from a module inside the gauge cluster.

I love the four blink lane change feature, it's perfect in my opinion.

That's a bummer. Hoping it was easier than that.

I love how loud it is when I am following behind you or trying to pull out from a gas station, that way you don't accidentally have your signal on when you're actually going straight.

People leave blinkers on because they are distracted by something else. They are usually poor drivers in the first place, or driving recklessly. The hanging blinker is the least of the problems to worry about. Keeping their car from touching other cars is the problem to worry about.

I think Mike Rowe needs to change his lines in the commercials,
"It has best in class payload.
Best in class towing.
Loudest blinker.
Go to your Ford dealer today"

I know, my wife hates it when she is in the truck with me and I use the turn signal, and she hates it when she calls me while I'm driving my truck !

3 blinks without trailer and 5 with trailer attached (with 7-way and NOT the 4-flat).

Agree the turn signal is loud, but the key in ignition sing-song drives me nuts.
