Good news! She didnt completely disagree with me getting one. But it was one of those "roll her eyes while saying I guess so" things lol. So in man terms, I cant spend a boat load of cash on one right at the moment

Were you able to read Racin or NMB2's threads over at PSN at all yet? I see you read Racin's thread here now you gotta check out the beginning of his build too.

I read the one on here... all 13 pages of it in one night lol. My head started to hurt! Most of the info is cut and dry but they were getting into some pretty detailed stuff that I wasnt even starting to understand lol

Yep. The more you read the threads, the more you will understand. And if you don't understand something, look it up. There will probably be a thread on it.

Ok. The main part that had my mind racing was the injection pump. They started talkin about how timing affects stuff and the degrees per CC nd so on

Ya the cc per degree of timing is a bit advanced but its not anything to worry about unless you are building an IP which is what they are doing. But pretty much timing just affects when the fuel is injected which affects the fuel burn.

Yup im lost lol. If I do build a 6.9 Id wanna make similar numbers to my 460 which shouldnt be too difficult. A decent turbo, cam swap, turned up IP and some head studs for assurance should put me up there from what Im reading

You will definitely be close with the proper mods. You will need an IP upgrade not just a turned up IP and injector upgrades will help too. You have any ideas on what you are going to do for a turbo? Do you have any fabrication ability?

Also water/methanol or propane will help with power too. You just don't want to inject to much of either cus it can mess an engine up. But that only happens when people are being too over zealous with them. A setup that is done properly will give good power and reliability. Most guy do run the water/methanol over the propane though but I do think both are good injectables.

Im good at ideas and can put it on paper but when it comes to doing it, 75% of the time, I dont have the equipment. As for my gfs dad, hes got the fabrication know how. Hes been in the drag racing scene since high school. Ill prolly leave the engine at his house and work on it there and he will prolly assist most of the time. Or he will work on it and Ill assist lol. One of the two

That sounds good. Its always good to have someone that can fab. Makes things a lil cheaper.

Definitly! Only thing Im afraid of is itll end up like my El Camino project... bought a bare 454 block and it just sat. I didnt realize the amount of money to even start building a big block! So its sat in my garage for about 4 years now, soon to be sold to someone with some money and know how... hopefully
