TS chip

hey guys, I found a guy near me selling a TS chip for $150, so i'm going to pick it up later today. the guy says it has the regular canned tunes on it. that being said, it should just plug right in, right? I know i won't be very impressed since it's just the canned tunes, but i won't have to do anything special, will i?

Make sure you clean the connectors on the PCM (scotch brite & alcohol) before plugging in your chip, they are covered in lacquer and may not give a good connection if you don't.

yes i did! Just when I thought I was hitting an all time low, one of my family members came into some money and helped me out. now not only do i not need to sell the truck, but i'm just about debt free (other than the truck payments for mine and the wife's), and I was basically ordered to use the left overs to treat myself. lol

I'm too sentimental. lol plus there's no way i'd find a truck just like mine in as good of condition up here. everything's rotted out here from the salt and not washing enough...

That is true Mike.

Everyone has a different experience... I bought a TS 6 pos chip from a local shop who can only give me the canned tunes and I dropped it in.

I really like the shift points for econo and tow. They shift when she still is pulling.

I do believe that the two settings above that are really hard on my TC and 3rd gear...cuz you can feel it lock up as its about to shift, but takes forever and it shifts into 3rd hard.

So basically i keep it on econo all the time unless im towing then its tow... and once I get the IC and upgraded injectors in then I will reburn it.

But I have had mine in for a while and Ill beat on it in econo and it handles it fine.

Just my experience.
I have stock/high idle/econo/40/80/100/120
