99 f350 60mph+ Vibration FUEL RELATED!!

There are lots of post on here about vibrations but I didnt see one like this so I thought I would share....
I have a 99 F350 crew cab 8ft bed 4x4 dually with a 7.3 and 250,000 miles that I have been chasing a vibration in for over 2 years now. My truck is modified with air bag suspension, king shocks, 19.5 conversion wheels and tires, and custom drive shaft, programmer, stage 3 injectors etc..
I tried everything related to suspension and tires and it just seemed to never go away. When I would hit about 60mph I would get a shake or vibration that would be constant all the way up through the rest of the mph. I would feel it in the steering wheel the center console the whole truck

Here is the wierd part! TURNS OUT IT WAS FUEL RELATED!! This past Monday she started laying down on me. I towed it to the mechanic. He scanned it and no codes. He wanted to dropped the tank because he had been seeing alot of plugged pick up screens. Bingo, they where all but plugged solid and my pick up was in pieces on the bottom of the tank. He took it out for a test drive and it died again this time it gave a crank sensor code. So turns out what really caused her to lay down was the sensor going bad. (know ford issue). But after seeing the screens and the fact you couldnt hardly blow air throught them they need replaced anyway. Driving home that night I immedialty noticed a power differance and at 60mph the shake was GONE!! My truck never showed any signs of fuel starvation, no missing or anything like that. I thought she fealt a little low on power but with 250,000 on her I didnt think much about it. I called the mechanic and he said probably was airating or foaming because of the blockage causing just enough of a rough running to be felt. All I know is she runs like a new truck and NO VIBRATIONS!!!

Good catch! You should also post this in the 7.3L Power Stroke engine forum.

I wonder if that's contributing to my #8 noisy injector. My excursion has 274,000 on it sounds like I have a fun Saturday now! Thanks for the tip I'll post my results!

KDR358.....Funny you talk about noisy.....Thats also one thing I noticed this morning was how much quieter the whole ride in was......yes my motor was not as loud. Also to fyi you the "screens" are up inside the pickup housing so you have to take it apart to see them. I was told they can be cleaned but my pick up on the bottom had broke off so I had to replace the assembly anyway.
