straight axle specs

Hello friends.
I posted earlier, and was wondering the specs on a 55 front axle, perch to perch. I recently bought a new dropped axle, and the spring perches are about a half an inch wider on either side of the perch, than the previous one I had in there. I hope to goodness that I have the right one at the machine shop. If you want to read the ugly details of the past 3 days, see my other post.

*sigh

This is pure speculation from an IFS guy, but it almost sounds like an axle for a much heavier truck with wider leaf springs. Call Bob's, he would certainly know what's going on here. Good Luck, sounds like you could use some right now.

Thanks for the kind words. I WAS given the wrong part, but I finally got her home and will be returning the axle in exchange for my $369. I will be putting this $$ twards what I really need, and that is an IFS unit.

Thanks again, its been a hard 3 days
