railroad12 ah.....welcome to FTE, you are in the MISSOURI state forum, Alabama is down just bit in the southern region. Make sure you top by and say hello there too ok?
Question........or another quandry.
Have you ever been setting around your camp fire, on your own private property and had some across the state line lost dufus just pull up in his POS chebby truck and about knock over the beer cooler. All the while with some rap music blaring and then blast that god awful "dixie" horn tune and jump out and yell "what's up homie's"?
And about that time he realizes he is in the wrong county/state/driveway and has just poked a grizzly bear that is on crack with 2 hrs of sleep and is outa smokes.
Then you deliver a good ol "high as a bear on crack without smokes" (edit) whooping for the close encounter with the beer cooler.
What the heck was that (caution full blown jackassery in effect).......he haw he haw.
Ah I would make sure the car is worth the trip to Ohio, and it will get you back. Yes on selling it and buying a older Ford truck, 73-79 to be exact.......all IMO.

My wife had a very unsettling (for lack of a better word that would not get censored) with her father. She decided not long after we were married that she had to put that uglyness behind her and move on, so she broke ties with him and the step-family. None of them questioned why she did it.
Years later, he was on his death bed and trying desperately to contact us. He even had clergy calling us. This brought back all the uglyness she had left behind years ago. We figured he was trying to make amends before it was too late.
I tried to be objective and told her I would support her whatever she decided. She decided not to see him. He would die thinking how great he was, and she would have to relive all the ugly past all over again. So she walked away.
A couple weeks later, we got a letter from a lawyer stating we needed to come into his office to sign some papers so she could get her inherritance. She called him and told him not to ever contact anyone in our family again regarding this matter, and the money could be buried with him for all she cared. She didn't even let him tell her how much it was.
Some things are more important than "stuff". It was like therapy for her. She never looked back.
