Barely made it
Took the camper to Cape Hatterass this morning from Winston Salem (5 hr drive) battery light flickered a few times and I thought it was odd since the alt was newish. The batteries are about a year old as well. Anyway about 2 miles from the campground my dash lights were barely visible but we made it in. Went to restart after check in and click, click. Had to jump it to get to the campsite and now I borrowed a charger and hope it makes it the 25 miles to the closest parts place.

We are having a blast. Surf is great, so much to do. Got lots of fun things on tap heheh. Climbed Hatteras light house after I changed the alt. Gonna fish, swim, rent kayaks etc. Weather is great, doing all the tourist stuff too. Grilling steaks and fish all week. Love it here. I'll post some pics when i get back.

I've read so many times about the alternators from the local auto parts store going bad and stuff. I actually replaced a Ford unit twice while it was still at the dealer! So whatI did is bought one that I knew was going to work at least for a hot minute...then I bought an EXPENSIVE DC Power unit that was higher power and better quality. I hate doing things multiple times. If I can do it once(Every three or your years or so...) Just a thought. The DC Power one set me back $400 +/- but it powers the best like no other no matter what I throw at it.
Remember many people end up needing batteries after an alternator goes bad. Both should be replaced at the same time. I also did an upgrade here and went with XS batteries. I have 1500 watts of stereo, 2000 watt inverter, and kids with laptops, and I looking at satellite tv... I like my power...ha!

Problem is I gave it up for the core. Also i'm on my second Oreillys waterpump and the hub I got from them a year ago is junk. I guess lifetime warranty isn't worth it in this case.
