Not bad here yet. We had one of our techs decide to quit today so I guess I will be spending more time in the shop til I can find a replacement. OH joy

 

I run a maintenance shop for the National Guard. I worked at a car dealership before I joined the army, Would not mind doing something like that again when I retire. But it can be stressful when you are short man power. We have been in the high 80's but it is a bit cooler this morning. Heat does not really bother me but I can't stand being cold.

Anybody looking for a 429 Interceptor Motor, my buddy found one yesterday and we will pick it up this afternoon. It is currently attached to a rusted out 71 Galaxie 500 ex GSP car.

I know that someone robbed the valve cover off of it, but rambling through my buddies junk I think I found one laying yesterday. Now if it is only the correct side that has been swapped out.

As promised here is the following information .

The car is a 1971 Custom. It has a 429 Interceptor Cobra Jet. We think it has the CJ Transmission with the Cast Iron Tail piece (tranny def need rebuild), but will know this afternoon. The intake & Heads have the D00 code which makes it to be a 70 model engine. He wants $1900.00 Car and Engine and extra C6 Transmission (said to be a good tranny). He will sale Engine, attached Tranny, and extra Tranny $1600.00.

He also has a 76 F100 XLT original title.
A 1993 Ranger 4 X 4 with a 4.0 5 speed.
A 1988 F150 with a 1993 front clip. Lightning intake and built motor (insane fast).

I was out of the office all day checking some other bases we take care of. Heading to batting practice for a little while, we have a game on Saturday. The engine and stuff would cool for a cobra project later on in life that I want to do, but not good for me right now. Sounds like a deal if the engine is good.

Turned hot and muggy but not as hot as you guys are getting.

 

Hi Everyone and a Happy Saturday to ya !!!!
Hope that you have gotten the yard work and honeys do's done with. We have another softball game this afternoon and then dinner and a movie but I think we are dropping the movie. Grilling steaks to celebrate our first win the other night, hopefully not the only one we have this season.

We had alot of thunder and lightening last night but just a little bit of rain. Hot and muggy again today, the northern boys are not liking it much, does not bother me any. Been in contact with the guy that is going to be replacing me, still a ways off but I think we can see the light at the end of the tunnel. You all have a good one and be safe over there.

Would be a good race motor. Not so good of a truck motor. Those CJ / SCJ / PI intakes and head had pretty large runners making them great for WOT, loose some on the lower end with the decreased air velocity due to those big runners. Not as bad as the 429 Boss...that would just die off the line.
