I have a 92 f150 4x4 short bed with a 302 5.0 automatic. When I'm driving the truck doesn't like to shift at all unless I let out and BAM rite into second overdrive does ok except it doesn't like to stay in OD. Now if I put my foot in it it shifts to second smooth as can be, it also goes into gear kindof hard especially when coming from reverse, I usually bump it into neutral for a sec wih my foot on the brake then bump it in drive but most of the time get that clunk but I know it's not the rear it's solid. Also when it goes in any gear it almost wants to cut off where the rpms drop so low I feel I need to tap the gas and if u let it sit there for a few minutes running it starts acting up like its out of gas or missing please help new to fords not trying to cut any corners but I've already had to replace a starter and steering components just trying to save a little money I've only had the truck 2 mnths thanks

 

Check for codes. Many times there can be a stored code or other issue without turning on the Check Engine Light.
