panelman. the running boards on the parts truck were crap. We decided can fix ones we have with some minor welding. The tailgate on origonal has a grain chute cut into it that my husband doesnt want so we were trying to find one that could swap out. But The one we have is in decent shape and so might just try to weld the center square back in that we got from a F1 for $10.

If you just need the center square, I have a crappy F2-F3 tailgate with a solid square, but some damage around the FORD script. I can hack the center out and mail it. Would be a lot cheaper.
Doesn't the parts truck have a tailgate?

Yeah....I'm already taken too!! I am, however, pretty sure that my wife doesn't like my truck as much as I do. It's probably more expensive than a mistress or a bad drug habit. She did mention that my next project should be a convertible car for her....I'm all for that!!!
Sounds like you guys have a really nice project planned.
I don't know any flathead guys in your area....if you don't hear back from EFV8 soon ping them again.
What are your plans for the truck project??
Just a thought....if you don't find an answer here, for the flatties, you might take a look around the HAMB website. They are traditional hot rodders, but there is a pretty big list of vendors listed on the website: Hokey *** Message Board - THE H.A.M.B.
Sometimes the hambers can be a little touchy for off topic discissions, but finding a flathead engine machine shop or mechanic isn't too far afield.

Plan for the truck so far is a ground up restoration. We took the frame from the donor, swaped out the rear for a 72 dana 60, sent it to be sand blasted, & POR15 it. The boys pulled the engine and tranny from the keeper last night and thats the winter project. Next to run new brake lines and check everything on the frame and start moving parts over. Engine next get it running and rolling again and body last. The engine was running until we took it out happy about that
