Question 337 Flathead differences

Hi I am new to the list, looking for some engine identification assistance. I am gathering parts for a restoration on a 52 Muntz Jet. In 52 they used a Lincoln Flathead that was used in the 49-51 Lincoln's a 337 ci motor. The various Flathead sites state that the F-7 & F-8 ? Ford Trucks used the same engine (8EQ?) but that the compression is different. Can anybody tell me what all the differences are between the Ford Truck motor and the Lincoln motor. I am looking for a running or rebuildable motor to start with and want to be armed with all the information to know what I am looking at. Thanks.

The Muntz Jet is a car that was produced by Earl "Madman" Muntz from 1950-54. Earl Muntz was a California entrepreneur who was well known for his marketing and manufacturing of early TV's and the four track tape player. Earl Muntz started the car company when he bought the basic car design etc from Frank Kurtis a car designer and builder who had built a limited number (approx 30) Kurtis Sport Roadsters, a 2 seater sports cars. I believe Frank Kurtis was known for building Indianapolis race cars?? When Earl Muntz bought the company and the design from Kurtis, he stretched the car to make it a 4 seater. The original 25 or so Muntz cars were built in Glendale California with Aluminum bodies and Cadillac 331 engines. Later the company moved to Evanston Illinois where the company continued to build the cars out of steel. They used the 331 Lincoln flathead, and then later in production changed to the Lincoln Overhead valve engine. The registry of Muntz owners estimates about 200 cars were produced in the four year period. I would post a picture of my car if someone with more computer expertise could explain for me how to go about it.

I can still remember Earls TV ads!

The primary difference between the truck and car blocks is the cam and lifters, trucks were solids. Early 49 car also used solids.
The 8EQ heads had slightly larger combustion chambers than the EL series; similar to the differences between the 8RT and 8BA Ford engines.

I have a 337 in a 51 F-8 that I'm not going to use. It has 24K original miles.
