looking at some OBDII readers available locally at LordCo. One is Innova by Equus the other is easydiag. Not sure how these compare to torque pro and I do not have google play setup with payment....
From my experience, it just depends what your wanting to do. The Torque Pro will let you read and clear codes and let you see some parameters (not many as the old 7.3s doesn't have many parameters). The cheap-o readers do essentially the exact same thing: read codes. But some will actually tell you what the code means, an estimate on how expensive the part is, and an estimate on how long itll take to replace the part. But then again, so does Google...
If your wanting to keep it in a vehicle, the Troque App is better. If your going to swap it around a lot, a handheld is handier
