Been reading over on the 6.OH forum for some time. Part of me wants to get one just to see if I can make it bulletproof and run badazz. Now THAT'S RETARDED. It must be the wrencher/fixer in me. I am not going to, butit would be fun...not at the sacrifice of my OBS of course, There....I said it out loud!

You just made me spit out my coffee!! LOL!! Apparently, owning the new amazing 6.7 is just about as fun. I keep reading problem after problem on that forum. It just amazes me that those guys tried to convince me how good of a truck it is and that the "few" problems are just the complainers...

All I know is how much I love seeing no DPF or EGR on my truck. Not to start that convo again. It seems if you drive the absolute pizz out of them, they are fine.

If I run into a cheap one in a few years after college with a crew cab and 6 speed I'll buy it. Worlds more expensive and more of a pain in the *** to work on than the 7.3 but they sure are fast.

The problem was it was a speedster...not real family friendly.

Yup. That's some sound advice right there.

That's impressive. With help from my son in law, I've got tools that get lost in less than 90 days. To think no one has lost any tools in 100 years is incredible.

(Admittedly I've lost a few tools myself over the years when I was younger.)

I saw some at a big flea market weekend before last down here in NC. Even one of the pipe wrenches like Kevin's father in law has.

That's a cool display Kevin!

I rezent that statement!

A 6 liter can be a blessing or a total nightmare. If you fix em before they break, your good. But it seems when the problems start, they don't end...

Jp. I worked at the dealer when they first came out. I worked on more than I care to admit. They are a flawed design. I am glad you have had good luck with yours. My opinion is that knowingly buying one is just asking for heart ache. I have a buddy that had one. Very smart capable mech. He had it for several years. It was literally one thing after another.even the new set of ford injectors within 3000 miles cracked a nozzle. He went back to his beloved gasser Chevy's.

JP,it sounds like you got yours already bulletproofed. My understanding is that if you do that early on, it avoids the domino effect that can happen once things start breaking. I do love the way they sound just idling. I can't deny it.

I don't know because I have never owned one, but just from reading on the forum, it's enough to scare me away and never want those sorts of problems. If you peak over there, there is a thread right now with the term "nightmare" in the title. After reading through that whole thing, I would have set it on fire AND cut my own arm off for less pain...just sayin'. They have literally tried EVERYTHING, and it still has the same problem. They have torn it down 8 times!! Yeah, I love the simplicity and ability to be fixed on my OBS. Yes, I have had my own headaches, but nothing like the 6.0 or even the new titan 6.7 engine. Wow, what a ton of BS for a truck north of $60k.
