the official OBS diesel off topic thread
Well, another week has begun. I had a great weekend. Went into work an hour early this morning feeling rested and ready to go. Very bizarre, lol.
I also prefer an E4OD.
The reason the new truck don't have manual trans is because the previous generation were only order about 2% with manuals. It comes down to market trend and profit not feasibility.

Good for you Phil! That is bizarre, especially for a Monday. Hopefully that keeps up!
Were having a serious case of the Mondays here at the shop, we have plenty of work to do, which is good. The bad part is, we have plenty of work to do...lol
Just another day of working on peoples junk, no wonder I never have the energy to work on my own junk. lol.
Gotta take it when you can though.

They do local "farm tractor" pulls at 8:00 am. Then at noon they start running 2 tracks. More local tractors and trucks on one, and Lucas Oil PPL classes on the other side. The PPL classes include: Super Modified 2WD Trucks, Super Modfied Tractors, Unlimited Super Stock Tractors, Pro Stock Tractors, Super Farm Tractors, Light Weight Super Stock Tractors & Hot Rod Semi's.
Not bad for $10. They'll be pulling until around 11 pm if not later.

I have always wnated to see those Hot Rod semis! Weve been trying to go but something always comes up or we forget about it lol. And on the other hand, one of the best pulls Iv been to was in Indy (IIRC) and they had those multi-engine unlimiteds. WHEW they were loud!
Today hasnt been bad for me, but I havent been to work yet lol.
I also might not be the "El Camino Man" anymore come Sunday

I sold my 65 Falcon convertible and I'm still 'oldbird1965'! LOL
I have a bunch of burned up gauges but my favorite one has always been the scangauge. I pulled it out of the mess and the wire to the plug was fried and cut. I cut it back to I found colored wires and soldered them. IT WORKS!
Edit: I'm going to have to get rid of my signature!

I'm down to about six things that I still want to get off the mare. I also got it towed to a friends where it will stay until I figure out a few things. State Farm said they 'might' adjust what they think the truck is worth if I can fax them copies of some of the expensive mods I've done. I have most of the papers with me but feel at this point its a waste of my time to fight with them. I'll give it a shot though.
