What he said for the turn signal. Might be an issue in your multi-function switch. Not sure if these OBS trucks have, but there's a signal relay under the dash in my half-ton that I had to change once to fix a turn signal issue too. Two places to look I suppose.

Not sure on the car. You're right that the shaking does point to something slipping though, at least to me. Maybe the other guys know more than I do.

The other question isn't as simple. My girlfriend has a '02 Focus w/ 181,000 on the odo. If your cruising down the highway and back off the throttle, it will "pulsate", for lack of better term (feel like your pumping the throttle). Sometimes it does it slightly when simply cruising. Today she says when she left from a stoplight, it started shaking real bad. The first issue points more towards a sensor or solenoid. The second sounded more to me like a slipping tranny. Im far from a mechanic, so any insight would be awesome
There's a round relay located on the inner fuse bank. That's probably your blinker issue.

X2 on the relay. The car I'd check the plugs and wires. Usually a sensor or solenoid will set a cel. But the spark plugs have to be pretty bad to set one. I don't know about the pulsation but it could possibly be compensating for a failing plug. It's usually pretty cheap to check. My f-150 does the stutter on acceleration when a plug is going.

check for a bad bulb. hyper-flash is an indication of a bad bulb.

when was the last time the transmission was serviced? sounds like dirty filter/fluid.
auto trans should get a filter/fluid service every 30-35k miles.

Certainly not that soon ago lol. She's had the car for 3-4 years and has put quite a few miles on it. The trans hasn't been touched since she bought it. I'm sure a good fluid change would help

Do E4ODs need changed that often?

i use 30-35 as a base line because i have found that is when the trans starts "hunting" between direct and od. if left longer it will also "hunt" between lower gears.

I told myself if I have some extra money, when the truck rolls 400,000 miles, Im going to change ALL the fluids in the truck, including the tranny. Id like to go all full synthetic but Im sure thatll be way to expensive lol

i do not do synthetic in anything . i feel it is a waste of money.
if ford did not feel it was good enough to put in our vehicles when they made it and do not use it when you take it in for service, why would i want to put it in my vehicles?

because they pay $2 per quart for it and can charge $15 per quart for it and the customers gladly pay it because they are told it is good???

Well fellas the kid has arrived. James was born 5:09 am thurs morning. He's a big fella weighing in at 10lbs 11oz. She was induced about a week past her due date. The doc said he showed no signs of coming without induction and could have easily gone another week possibly 2. That would mean he could've easily been over 11 lbs. He's a monster! Mom is doing fantastic as well and I hope we can get discharged tonight.

Aaaaannnnnd Bill is bringing a present up this afternoon. Happy week!

Yeah JP,I don't know if it helps but John Woods recommended every 30k miles. That is what he and his guy have always done pretty religiously. he said there is no reason to not get 200k miles out of a trans if it's done that way.
