Lincoln Mark IV & V CB Radio?

Hello everyone just wanted to know if this is the same CB radio setup that is in the 1978-79 Ford trucks? And do you know if it will work in a 1979 F250 Ranger Lariat?

Thanks Hommerstang

-Don't think it will be a direct fit/bolt in, but it should go in and look/work ok.
-What year is the vehicle that the unit is coming from?
-Biggest thing I can think of is that CARS use 4 speakers and TRUCKS only use 2, plus the brackets from CARS to TRUCKS are different.
IF you have all the brackets from your original am radio you might be able to get them to fit the cb unit....

Thanks Supercab for the reply. It was on Ebay and the mic looked the same but the little screen where the channel numbers are displayed was on the left side of the mic and not the right side. Don't know what year the car was. Here is the link to Ebay

What? Something tells me you are not sure what the factory CB system looked like or how it worked. The original CB radio is a completely seperate setup from the AM/FM radio. It doesn't matter how many speakers that you have in the car/truck for the CB to work. The original CB system used the single speaker in the dash and would cut out the radio when turned on.

The mic shown in the ebay ad the OP posted is from a later model, 80-up, and is not the same as 78-79 mics.

78-79 mic would look like this.

80-up

You can still find almost all of the original CB stuff on ebay from time to time. The only thing that will be next to impossible to find is the correct antenna. That would look like this.
