6.9 Luk cluthch kit LUK 07225

I have a 1985 f250 6.9 with the T18 manual trans.

I have read on several websites that luk makes a complete kit to do the smf swap, but nobody lists the part #.

I found this one. LUK-07225 but it’s showing to fit a 7.3 not a 6.9.

has anyone done this swap on a 6.9?

if i remember correctly, the 6.9 used a SMF and the dmf did not start until the 7.3.

I believe the DMF started with the zf5, my 87 with 6.9 had one.

Your flywheel should be a single mass, as noted by several others. The flywheel should be reusable, a local machine shop can clean it up for you if needed.
What you might be looking for is LuK 07-026 which includes the clutch disc, pressure plate, throw-out bearing and pilot bearing with a clutch alignment tool. You may need to check the specs on the input shaft on your transmission, but that is the kit listed for a 86 with a 6.9 IDI

I want to say I've ordered from Carolina Clutch at least once, probably twice and have had good luck. I'm sure if you call them they can verify the fitment, for some reason the LuK online catalog I found only listed a 4.9 liter gas engine, and no other options which is weird... You may be able to find the same set other places as well.
