That's a nice looking engine however I think you need to ditch that aircleaner and step up to a nice open filter. I vote for an Edelbrock Elite, I put one on the 68 and it really helped.

Hahah well Brett would you happen to have one laying around? The cheapest one i found was a $30 Edlebrock chrome one from ebay
CHROME AIR CLEANER WASHABLE Ford Edelbrock Carburetor | eBay
Seems like a good deal but i don't know i should get one yet. Are the 2bbl ones working with 4bbl carbs? I will probably keep the 2bbl for a while and rebuild it till i have the money for a 4. I always wanted the open style one but they were soooo expense..

EDIT: this one is also fro 4bbl...

The carbs all pretty much have the same hat size. The edelbrock eliteElite isnt cheap but looks super awesome. The cheap stamped steel ones will bend and then they're done

Ya, thats the problem, i don't want something expensive then to switch carbs and have it be useless. Thouh it do need a new filter mine is getting kind of grimy.

No you'd be fine with a new carb and that cleaner. Unless you plan on running dual quads or something exotic (weber) then you'd be able to keep most any aftermarket cleaner you put on your carb.

Got mine at my local Advance. Along with some other odds and ends I think the total was like $69. Which was a great deal.

Never mind found out where the burning oil ventilator module goes Other issue... How would it clear the elctronic choke? I am pretty sure the stock housing is dented to fit...

The bottom of the air cleaner is shaped to fit around the choke. You also could run without the hose but they come with adapters to hook up if desired.
