Total timing question on a 95 351W

Found the spout connector on the 95 F150 today, got the initial timing set to 10-12* BTDC. Replaced the connector and checked the timing and advance while reving it in park. It only advances to about 25*. But it sounds 100% better than it did before I started with the timing set at 20*BTC. I know these motors in a carbed application like around 30-36 total. I've yet to be able to drive it, still waiting on the family of wood thrush's to fly away, plus swapping the title and getting it registered, all that and fabbing an exhaust system. Is 25 all the computer will give it ?

No there is 30 some odd degrees in the map but you won't see it in park with no load on the motor.

Ok, that's what I was hoping to hear. Got the exhaust parts in today, hopefully it'll be road worthy in a week or so to where I can give it a shakedown run. Thanks
