Crud on my V10...what is it? Anyone else?

So, I have some dust/dirt/oil concoction on my intake manifold. I have no idea what it is from but its got me really nervous.

Anyone have any ideas?

I would clean it with carb cleaner first. Use a little and scrub with a brush. The spray a little more and brush. Don't recognize what it is or why it is there. It looks like it has been there a while.
