That thing is totally freaking awesome...... Thanks! And now I have a photo of how aftermarket gauges look when you eliminate the secondary black panel and move the gauges forward without the piece of glass in there. Just might have to do that when I pull it for the other two gauges. I'm guessing the ABS pipe rings would need to be about an inch tall. Thanks for adding this to the thread. Holy ****That truck is really, really nice........
Walston, where did you get that instrument bezel? I am new so forgive me, but I haven't seen a factory one with 2 large openings. I guess they had to have made one.
If you click on my name 'Walston' and select "galley" you will find many pictures. One section shows how I made it from an original. I basically welded in a flat piece of 16 gauge and drilled new holes.
I think it's from some kind of big truck like an F750 or something.... Whatever it's from it's frikken killing me. But NOOOOO, I gotta write a flippin giant check to the IRS...... BTW, that panel is awesome! did I mention I just finished my new cork float for my sender? No way I was gonna buy one! pictures to follow.
Ok Walston, I just cruised through your gallery. You did a beautiful job on that panel. It looks factory. And Spurredon, just so you don't think I've gone totally darkside, I'd put stock wheels on that blue ***** with 33 x 9.50 x 15's. Tall and skinny radials...........ok, maybe 700 x 15 mud and snow bias. and loose the metalic paint.
Tonight we'll be able to see what's in the refrigerator again. Couple of cork stoppers screwed together and epoxied. The appliance bulb was banging on the inside of the tank.........
Wine corks were a bit too skinny. These were generic cork stoppers from the local hardware store. I screwed them together with a 2 1/2 x #6 stainless screw and painted them up with epoxy. In this bad construction economy, I like to believe I'm 'thinking outside the wallet'. I used to BUY a lot more stuff for trucks when the big checks were rollin' in.
