Really? Why so low? I'd say down around the 6's if it were gas.

If it had over 200,000 miles or some cosmetic stuff wrong then it could go that low but where I am that truck is worth $8000-9000 or maybe a hair more. Or if it were a gas. But locality is a factor. I can only speak for what I've seen them go for around me.

from a body guy's point of view, watch white, it is a colour that can hide alot of things, im in b.c. and to me the price is "fair" but in the states you should be cheaper, check the body over good, possibly check the original paint code( should be in the glove box, on the drivers door, or you might have the original paper under the springs in the seat ) check the mounts to see if they have been shimmed at all due to ithor bent frame or roll over, if you are able to take it for a drive on a dirt road that is soft and see how the tires track? just some things to look for and my 2cents

Some good points here, I'll be checking all of the body panels and the paint lines to see if its been repainted. And, like burnout said, this truck is a SoCal truck so there won't be any rust!

That price is "fair" for clean rust free truck around here(the rust belt) but out in HOLLYWOOD, those trucks are a dime a dozen and it lowers the price.

Hell, I just paid 8k for my CCSB , PSD, 5spd. And wee all know how rare they are and then factor in the 5 speed

I actually did just find the same truck but with a 5 speed for $7000. Same color, body looks like it's in the same shape. However it has more than TWICE as many miles on it. It's at a dealership but I suspect they'll end up letting it go for half the asking price.

I also just found a nice looking F250 crewcab shortbox powerstroke at a dealership for $6500 but it didn't say mileage. It did say: "needs TLC, mechanic's special" which could mean anything from "it needs new everything" to "it needs a $20 part that's easy to replace but we don't know that and just assume it's a POS".

yeah but it cali and they're a little different out there. just for reference my father bought the same truck with 10K more miles and paid $6500 for it, but it was NOT 4x4, didn't have the fancy rims either

In my area that is a $8000 to $9000 truck. Especially with the low miles. Cali is alot more expensive too so if you an talk the guy down a grand it would be a good deal I think. Now for a crew cab people would be asking $9500- $12000 around here. That is a very desireable combo around here and people are willing to pay above book value for them.

Well, I'm not sure how much this will put it in perspective...but in 2005 I paid <cough> $15,000<cough> for this...

1996 F250 HD supercab shortbed 4x4
7.3 PSD, 5-speed, 6" lift, 37" Super Swampers
D60 swap from 97 F350

Upgraded injectors, flip-chip, boost relief valve, downpipe, exhaust, air intake and I'm sure I'm forgetting things. Good for 308.8 rwhp and 620.1 rwtq. I don't think $9000 is out of line for that.

Talking

Gentlemen, the truck is mine! Got it for $8700. The gentleman who owned it works for a Ford dealership so he washed it, put it through a 99 point inspection, and changed the oil. He even filled up the fuel tanks most of the way! With the truck I also snagged a set of 33x12.50R16.5 all terrains on aluminum wheels. Only 3 rims have tires (one got shredded) and one spare 33x10.50" on a steel rim (that whole set w/spare are getting sold). Currently it's rolling on a set of new 305/65R18 all-terrains on super nice rims. I also got an Edge power programmer and a nice stereo head unit.

The truck is super clean, no rust anywhere (one good thing about California), has a down pipe-back exhaust with a tiny muffler and it exits out the side half way between the back of the cab and the rear axle. This thing was a great find! I'm just going to flush the tranny, and get a performance down-tube and call it a day!

I'll get some pictures up and post a thread to introduce my new girlfriend! Btw, I decided to name this one Daisy too and name the other one after my x-girlfriend... "Liz" Thanks again for all the help!

Nice! Although I did chuckle at the 16.5" rims. Once you start shopping for tires that fit it, you'll have a better understanding as to why he may have 'given' them to you.....
