Talking Looking to buy my first Powerstroke... on a budget

Hey all, just joined the forum as I'm looking to buy my first truck and hoping for some pro advice. I'm specifically looking for a 7.3 Powerstroke – I'll be converting to veggie oil and according to my shop these engines are well suited. My budget for a used truck is $6500 max.

So, here's one I'm looking at. Im a noob and don't want to get screwed. What do you think?:

Ford f 250 extend a cab - Calgary Cars For Sale - Kijiji Calgary Canada.

The guys says all it needs is a new windshield. He is the second owner of this ex-government vehicle (should have been really well maintained). I'll be putting a full sized truck camper on the back.

Any advice would be a huge help. Thanks!

I have no advice on the veggie part and the truck is within your range. Pay close attention to the front end and transmission. Once removed from the hands of the government, no indicator it was taken care of.

As always, buyer beware.

You should search veggie oil in the 7.3 forum because when I had my 7.3 and would read the 7.3 forum it seemed to be alot of guys having problems when running that fuel.Just a word of caution... I believe injector problems but my memory is fuzzy..May save money short term but long term may be different.Jmo..
