I've never been a Manning fan...Peyton that is...I mean the guy is a great regular season quarterback...but how has he performed in the playoffs?...he never seemed to strike me as a BIG GAME PLAYER...sorry.
So will they be better off without him...not being a Colts fan...I can't say for sure...but after this past season...it sure seemed like he provided a great leadership to the team that was severely lacking and hence the 2-14 season...
The IRONY...his lack of playing caused them to have a 2-14 season and allow Ursay to have the first pick in the draft...by Peyton's lack of leadership as Luck would have it (sorry bad pun) the team fell completely apart and solidified a real choice for replacing Manning...think about it...had they not had the first pick in the draft...would Ursay be so quick to cut Peyton?...
Joe.

Joe...I think he was gone regardless. The 28 Million roster bonus he was owed was a real killer. That combined with the fact he's "old" for an NFL QB...coming off the 4 surgeries really have to make you wonder. I think they're better off starting over with Luck or Griffin and designing an offense that high lights their talents. Peyton might be better off with a team that needs a top QB...and is ready to win now with one.
I wonder what kind of numbers Brady would have put up if he played the vast majority of his games in the perfect weather conditions of a dome???

Morning Indiana and all of our IN friends!
Well...it's Friday...and I'm still in SoCal...
Should be a good day today regardless...we're making progress on our tasks...so that's good!
Sounds like the weather back home is turning more spring like with wet snow/rain mix this morning...Looks like early next week may be warm!!!...oh well...it is Indiana afterall!...
Hope everyone has a great day!
BTW...I agree...it was a no brainer for Irsay to let Manning go...however like I said...the irony is that had the Colts not stunk so bad this year they wouldn't have first pick and Irsay may have had to rethink his path forward is all...especially if Peyton goes to another team and continues his success...big IF...
Talk to you later.

Howdy ya'll!!!
-- First of all I'm a life long Steelers fan.
-- Many great qb's have never won a super bowl
--Irsay did the right thing.
--I always enjoyed watching Peyton and the Colts play. No huddle offense brought me back to watching football....sure makes it entertaining....he redifined the qb postion to a point, imo!
--Peyton did a lot for our state! Kudos to him and I wish him well.
--In a twisted dark way I look forward to seeing his new team beat the Colts.
