With the HID's what did you do about the radio interference ? Or do you even have that problem ?

Ken I was asking because I have known a couple of guys that had some issues with their HIDs. And are you asking me if I have tunes?? If you are asking me NO I don't have tunes yet. I have money issues and even if I had the money I am not sure who's tunes I would run. I like DP but they are a little pricey.

Installed a set of used OEM 05 lights today using the tutorial and associated parts form RiffRaff. Went well but having a problem fitting the little side marker light into the new housing. The OE side marker light fits into the housing at a 90* angle. However, there is not enough clearance to fit the light socket thing at a 90* angle....

Attaching a pic for reference. I'm referring to the small light that should be inserted into the opening in the bottom left of this pic.

Any tips on this?

Thanks.

Just to be sure I understand... Original to the '05?

The light socket for the 99-04 doesn't fit since it is a 90*. Looks like the newer one would need to take a straight, longer light socket.

How did you deal with that? Get the light socket for the 05+?

Thanks

I'm in the same boat. One of my used 06 lights is missing the straight locator/parking light socket and the original off the old light is at a 90 angle and does not appear to fit the new light housing.

I'll see if this will work in the morning.

Ok, for AMG-SM and myself and for anyone else that may need this, here is the P# for the straight turn signal socket that we needed. I picked one up at the stealership today.

Thought I would post some pics. I got the lights for $140 from a guy that does Tow/salvage and has a shop full of 6.0 parts that he sells on CL.

Anyway, thanks to Woodnthings for a great write up. Sending reps your way Bro. You

Looks great.

I toy with the idea of upgrading the front end to something like a 2007 grill and HD lights but for the $ I keep going back to upgrading the drivetrain etc.
