Lwclark, thanks for the info on Sacremento. I clicked the link and ordered one of their catalogs.

Fast58, I had a Mac's catalog in my mailbox this past Friday. I can already see that I'll be placing an order with them in the very near future.

Walston, thanks for sharing the pics of the disc conversion you did. I'm going to be tackling the brakes this week. I'm going to try to fix/repair what I have now and then go from there.

2losteve, yeah the small steering wheel puts me at a disadvantage. I guess I need to start touring junkyards as the replacement steering wheels seem pricey to me.

Spurredon, the body is in pretty good shape. It could use a few touchups in some areas, but I'm going to prob drive it a year or so before I get the paint and bodywork done.

Well, this weekend was pretty eventful. I took the truck on a shakedown run and made a few (15) miles and had a blowout on front driver side. Now, the truck has new Goodyear Wranglers on front and will have new rubber on the back after next weekend. The brakes are seeming to get better or maybe my leg is getting stronger : ), but nevertheless that project is priority before the next road test. My dad got my headlights working. The truck just needed a new dimmer switch. We also had to replace one high beam light that was busted. The brakes lights are also now working. The truck now has all new chains and hardware on the tailgate.

We will be tackling the turn signals, installing a new horn, and rear view mirror this week. Also, new weatherstripping will be put on the doors. We messed with the turn signals a bit to no avail. Does anyone have any suggestions on what we should try first in regards to turn signals?

Also, my hood will not stay up. What parts do I need to replace to fix this? Thanks for all of your help. I'm new to this, but I am having too much fun!

Rodg, welcome to FTE.I can't answer your question on the brake swap, but no doubt someone here can.

To get a better, faster response, I suggest you pose this question in a new thread?Introduce yourself, and your truck, while you're at it!

I wouldn't mess with rebuilding those wheel/master cylinders. They aren't that expensive. Also I'd replace the brake hoses too. I think you can get everything you need to go through the brakes on rockauto for about $250.

Hey,
Nice truck.
I have a 57 F100 that I'm puttin a 302 in.
I have a couple of questions for you if you got a minute.
What type of exhaust manifolds (off of what) do you have?
Is the center crossmember (under the torque converter) still in your truck?
Can you post or send me a couple of photos of both sides of your engine, in the area of the Exhaust manifold / stearing / crossmember.
Many thanks,
Steve

The springs on the hood hinges are bad, might make a prop or replace the springs.

You need to tell us what the turn signals are doing. Not working, lighting but not blinking, etc.

Blue57, I sent you a reply via email.

Walston, my turn signals are lighting up, but will not flash. I did get a new steeringing wheel. Well not new, but a good replacement. The small wheel that came on my truck was wearing me out. I was able to get a super nice 1960 steering wheel from Kevin Brockman on the Facebook 57-60 F100 forum. If anyone needs any 57-60 parts, then I'd recommend you contact him. If you need his email address, feel free to PM me.

I took my truck up to my hunting cabin recently. It was a 120 mile round trip and the truck performed very well. I am making good progress towards my goal of making this truck a regular weekend driver. Here are a few recent pics.

Window glass

Hey Juette where did you order your door window glass? My '60 needs both door glass replaced, thankfully the windshield and rear glass is good.
