trailer brakes not working

I have a f350 Super Duty 2006,
the tbc looks like its working but the only way to apply the trailer brakes is by manually pushing the bar on the controller. I had this problem before and it was fuses. So I replaced all the ones I replaced before but the brakes still wont work, anyone out there with the same problem, I would love to here from you
thanks ,
Cristy

How do you know your trailer brakes aren't working? What brand and type of controller do you have? Do you have the gain set right?

They work if you push the controller bar by hand, the controller is factory installed. But they don't work with the brake Pedal.
I had this problem a few years back and had to replace some fuses, I did the same thing this time but it did'nt fix it. I really appreciate any ideas.

Integrated Ford controller or other? If other, which one?

And you are testing it when you are moving, not stopped, right?

You have to give us more detail. When you say the brakes don't work when you push the brake pedal, what exactly do you mean? Do the brake lights not come on? Do the magnets not energize? Does the controller go dark? We need more details in order to help you.

I think he said earlier he can work the trailer brakes on manual, but his truck brakes overheat if he depends on the controller to activate the trailer brakes.

To me that means either the trailer brakes needed to be set up, the controller setting needs to be adjusted up, or the controller is taking a nap.

But the OP didn't say that . . .

I don't want to make any assumptions and sent the OP in the wrong direction.

There is a little switch on the brake pedal. These switches go bad a lot. Also what number is your controller set on? It should be on at lest 6 for a dual axle trailer.

This is soooo cool! thanks so much for all your help, just so you know, the gain is set at 8.5, and yes I have tested them when I am rolling, and, I would love to know where that little switch is on the brake3 Pedal!
Cristy
P.S. Yes, the brake lights do work when pushing the pedal

If the barke lights work, the switch is good. Located high up on the stop pedal.
