4.6 DOHC Question

I will be going with shorty headers. It dosen't look like it will be a problem.
The Sanderson FF4.6 header set is designed for DOHC Ford Modular 4.6L engines that are used in a variety of street rods and classic trucks.

Sam, you recomend a column shifter over the floor shifter? I had thought about one as well but not sure about connecting it to the 4r70w? I haven't really looked around that much yet though. I am planning on using an under floor mounted booster as well. Great to see there are a few others using the mark viii motors. I'm sure I will be asking lots of questions. I am going to use an aftermarket harness too.
Thanks

I am doing the Lokar cable shift (aca-1804) for my GM tranny (on the red 56), and I hope to do a similar thing for the 4r70w. Lokar doesn't make one specifically for this tranny,, but the difference is only the arm at the tranny,
and I should be able to make one to match. I'll give them a call (next week is travel again)

I am thinking about 2 narrow tanks, one on each side of the drive shaft. I would connect the 2 tanks so I only have to run one in tank fuel pump. I am running the Tbird IRS. I am reluctant to place the tank in the rear because I would really like to carry a spare.

Hey Scott,
On the question about centering the engine - We had our's an inch or two toward the passenger side to give more room for the steering & exhaust to clear on the driver's side. It get's super tight there - we needed all the room we could get - So.... Kind of centered but cheating a little over toward the passenger side.
You also need to plan out the front clearance as well. Our's got real tight between the engine & the radiator. We used a very slim electric fan & still
barely made it fit. (We put a 351W in our truck).
