Sorry for the late answer, but here it is:
There is no center differential in the BW 1356. It transmits power with no bias to the front and rear output shafts in 4wd mode. In 4wd lo, power flows through a planetary gearset before going to the output shafts.
The only vehicles with a center differential are those that drive all four wheels at the same time, on pavement. The part time units depend on some slippage inherent in dirt, snow, or ice to alleviate driveline bind.
