Just put a ebpv rebuild kit in my 1999 7.3 f-350 turbo pedestal. Unfortunatly it still leaked even though the cylinder appeared not to be damaged. So I pulled the piston and spring out of the cylinder left the back plate with seal and snap ring and tapped and plugged the opening where the rod came out with a 1/4 " NPt plug. What else should I do. If I Hooked it back up as is will it hurt my new turbo or should I get rid of the butterfly valve also. All help is appreciated.
The EBPV is in the exhaust outlet housing and that part does not come with the turbo. You either have to transfer the stock housing to the new turbo, gut the valve, or install a nonEBPV version.
I love my 38r and it was great upgrade while my engine was still mostly stock with a tuner.
Maybe I should quit drinking so much beer. I forgot the butterfly was in the exhaust housing. Swore it was in the pedestal. Makes me wonder what the hell I was hacking away at 3 years ago............
