Closer to home for me:

Here's another GREAT bit of crosswind skills. High-crosswind approach at KONT. A good friend of mine who still flies for UPS knows the Freight Dog that pulled this go-around off without pranging the #4 on his DC-8-73:

Yes, that nose-down attitude on approach is normal for the type, and they still show this clip at Flight Safety.

Great video clip, pop.

People that have never flown a plane often think that you reduce power and the plane glides lower. That clip is a good example that you FLY the plane to where it needs to go. You fly the plane through the descent just as you fly it through a climb.

When I worked for the neighbor he had an older version of one of these mixer wagons (below). They had aircraft tires standard. He used to let them wear down through at least 8 belts before they would get replaced because he could and they were so expensive.

On the aircraft they run a couple hundred psi. On the wagon they run maybe 30 so you don't need all those plys. Centrifugal force is much lower at 25 mph than 150 mph

I think the reason they used them on the wagon was to save the farmer from himself or his operators. Those tires could take a heck of a beating and still carried the load to the shop if they ever went "flat". Boy were they heavy!

^^^^ needs gravy ;-)
also they are retired early from aircraft for safety reasons and still have lots of life.
lots that fail quality control for aircraft but still good for farm. Good way to sell the rejects and still make a buck

That's exactly what happened in our case. The guy that had the last pair worked at the local airport. It was just a small airport but I guess he got them cheap. And yes, those things are heavy!
