These days in many circles John Delorean is a joke, but he was a great designer that gave us many good and appreciated things(though mostly GM) and is considered the father of the muscle car.

Depressing, they are supposed to remind you of the Delorean, remember John Delorean quit GM to go off on his own to build the Delorean and show GM how it should be done. The Fiero was GMs answer, it's a long story but it's not a coincidence that they are so similar looking.

 

the Delorean was not a bad car, it was just underpowered with the V6 engine and lousy fuel injection unit.
back in the day there were a few guys that ripped the fuel injection stuff of and put carbs on. then they were good runners.

 

I think that's a topic that could have it's own thread. But techically, the smart cars do surprisingly well in the crash test.

That doesn't mean I understand why a kid, who has to be in a car seat until they're old enough to start dating, can ride on a motorcycle with no problems. Or why if motorcycles are legal, why are some of the models sold in Europe, that are much cheaper, are not for sale just because they don't meet crash test criteria? They've got to be better in a crash than a bike.
