Loud!... but we can't wait to see the video.

I wish I could post bids if the Zebra in action but I need to find someone to hold the camera first.

I would love to do videos of me driving and going through mud and things but i too have no one to play camera man... I could probably set up my camera on a tree branch or something but there is no swivel so it would be difficult to do anything cool. I got the video done i just have to wait for YouTube to finish uploading.

That isn't too loud. I remember driving the Zebra with open headers to the exhaust shop.

What on Earth is going on with your exhaust...all that flex pipe. Just get some fenderwell headers and run sidepipes that dump in front of the wheels. Thatd be sweet.

the 400 is a loud motor.. I was surprised at how quiet my 351w was when my exhaust fell off. Never ran it at the manifold, but straight out my h-pipe when my cat + exhaust fell off.

It was loud, but I swear even with straight pipes straight to the tailgate my 400 was crazy loud.
what great sounding motors, man I miss my 400, soo under rated. Can't wait until I can set aside 10grand to do an EFI 400 built for my Bronco. which will probably be never..

yeah, here's a video of my 400.. guess I had cherry bombs I forgot about.

Part of what killed this truck for me was when my exhaust broke near the manifold and I couldn't get an exhaust shop to work on it.

I had a 351/400 in my old 78. That thing sounded mean, LT headers with a super 44 bolted to them and only about a foot of tailpipe either side true duals.

That crappy pipe is what the PO had, it runs between the frame and the radius arms then has a cherry bomb and its bolted to the frame under the body and exits infront of the wheels. I would love to do headers but my brother told me the exhaust fumes can eat up the rubber on my tires. I know he knows a lot but i don't really trust him on some things and this is one. And by running fenderwell exhaust does that follow the same path i have now or does it exit on the inside of the frame? the one thing i did wrong was when i went to test drive it, i forgot to take the E-brake off so there was a lot of resistance and it was really loud without much power. The ebrake doesn't work too well when it is rolling slow but in the long run it seems to work.... I almost want to unhook the exhaust again and re-drive it to see how it is. I know i would get tired of it. One day i will get the exhaust done but for now this will have to do...

Fenderwell headers exit in the front fenders, they go over the frame, and drop down behind the front tires, hence the reason for side pipes.

Ah gotcha, that would be pretty cool. I might have to keep an eye out for some.
