And here are some parts today. The heater box is painted with Rustoleum Black Hammertone paint which covers up any rust pitting very well. The original was a mottled silver but decided that the red letters would show up better on black.
The box is surprisingly complex on the inside. Each part has to be installed in a particular way.
I still need the heater blower and outside ducts that are unique to '49-'50 trucks. See the parts outlined in yellow on the attached diagram. If anybody can help please send me a message.
My thanks to Jeff (gearhead1952) for the very restorable heater box. My thanks to my wife for the steady hand with the lettering.
Pete - I like the way your unit turned out. I got close to the original look in silver.
And after the unknown parts hound finds the pieces that Pete needs, I'm after the connecting housing that holds the blower to the fender tube & cab wall.
Thanks to firstrider and gearhead1952 I'm getting close to having everything I need . . . and before the end of winter. The key parts that I still need are the blower housing and plenum (see attached diagram). I don't care about the condition. Denny has done some amazing things with parts that a lot of folks would scrap. These Ford parts were only used on 1949-50 models.
Do you still have the heater? Can you post some pics? i might be interested in it...

I do have it. You are welcome to it. I am not sure if the controls were there, I will look, but I did hook the fan up to my 6V battery charger and it works. I will take a picture of it and post it.

Jordan, no wonder I couldn't remember the controls. I looked at a picture that I took before I stripped the dash, the PO ran the heater off of a cheap toggle switch only. I will box the heater up and get it on your way, without the toggle switch that I probably threw away anyway...
