Yeah starting sand driving on 90 psi wheels is not good idea. Had to back up with trailer over 100 yards, what cost me transmission overheating.
Other guys brought some toys and have fun on the dunes, so I am cooling off my transmission before going to check what is happening in the city.
For those who are still coming, my vintage Airstream is probably unique marker here and is close to solid sand (I am not going again into deep sand again, no way)
See you all tomorrow.

Wow, looks like they are digging all the way down to China! Everything is a go here, I picked up the ice chest, and stopped for gas, just need to load up the Bronco with the chips, and soda, and then tomorrow I'll stop and get a bag of ice for the sodas. I should be good for gas, so unless I get lost, I'll be there about 10:30am tomorrow. Printer is out of ink, so I will have to manually write down the directions! (OH NO!! Do people still write these days?) I'll bring the laptop in case I get lost, maybe I can send a shout out to someone.

Is anyone spending Saturday night there? I know a few are spending tonight there, but I may end up staying Saturday night, and am just wondering if anyone from FTE will be there?

Jim

OH well the night is turning cold and we observe the neighbors hoping for low tide if you know what it means. Just because they have better view from the beach this evening, doesn't mean they will not wake up wet at 3 AM.
We had nice evening at Jay's campfire and I am calling the night.
Still have a sack of potatoes to bake in the fire if anyone wants them for breakfast. They are on the porch of my trailer, just don't wake me up before 10 AM

Good to know, so if I do stay overnight, I will not be by my lonesome.

Okay, going south on the 101, what off ramp or street will I need to take to get to the Pismo entrance? I see a lot of streets that the 101 crosses but I don't know which one is best for getting to the entrance.

Pismo State Beach, Oceano Dunes...I'm pretty sure there's a big Brown sign. Keep your eyes open once 101 comes out to the coast after you go through San Luis Obispo.

Be sure you knock on the door of the Airstream, as long as it's before 10 am

You mean that vintage Airstream that the owner specifically stated not to wake up before 10am?

Tide info once more:

<TABLE><TBODY><TR><TD width=410>

</IFRAME>
</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

I'll keep an eye out for that sleepy airstream.

I am up, but don't see the other guys jogging yet.
I was looking for sign and there is none on the freeway. My GPS suggested that coming from South go on the north end of the city and turn on highway 1 back south. Longer way, but you avoid city ltraffic. There are couple signs to the beach from highway 1.

From Hwy1, take Pier avenue to the Guard shack where you pay the entrance fee, then out onto the beach. Head South.

Here's the map:
