There was an update in the design...either will work for your truck; you can also "mis & match" them. I don't think you'll be able to find the old design since it was phased out 6-7 years ago.

The more I read the more it says I need a special injector. Is there some forums or any other information that proves either will work

Ok I finally replaced injector #4 and it was still doing it. On the test drive it stalled and the camshaft position sensor code came on so I replaced that and took it in to get reflashed. The problem is still accruing and I dunno what to check next. Icp, turbo, fuel pump? Where do I even start. Can a ficm test out fine but still not be functioning correctly. Please help

around 100.00 dollARS HERE at ford
or you could look into an AE with the Ford bundle IIRC 360.00 thru riff raff diesel
you could buzz the ficm with an AE it should buzz each injector 1 at a time
also will do a cylinder ballance test

The question should be what can you not do. It will allow you to buzz test, check contribution/balance read all codes on the truck (engine & chassis) along with a host of other test. Basically it will give you enough information that you should be able to find the problem without ever having your local Ford dealership look at the truck.

For the record, my local dealership raped me for $275 just to diagnose the three bad injectors (wanted another $1200 for parts). That's when I bought my AE; I diagnose & repair all my PSD issues since then.

Some SOLID Advice here

One day I will have one of those AE too

275.00 thats the most Iv heard for a diagnostic did they change the injectors too or just Diagnostic test. I know sometimes they will throw the cost of the diagnostic towards the repair if they get to do it

That was what they charged to basically tell me I had three bad injectors on one side. After that is when they dropped the $1200 bombshell just for all four injectors on the one side (I forget the exact $$$ for labor) and I said: "no thank, I'll fix 'em myself". Don't get me wrong, I'm not anti-dealership (I used to work for a Caterpillar dealership; well aware of what goes on). I'm just against the one & only Ford dealership for 30 miles that's near me.

So how do you know if all the sensors are reading right. Does it come with a software program that says what all specs should be

This is assuming you get AE with Ford Enhanced Bundle (has to be "Ford enhanced" to read PSD codes)...it will tell you all the faults the truck has logged (engine, tranny, chassis, ABS, etc). If you suspect something is off (say ICP) it's been covered several times on here. You can search this forum for the correct specs (HPO pressures for instance) and compare it to what your getting on your via AE. Basically AutoEnginuty is a software program that allows your PC/laptop to communicate with your truck. Yes, you have to have a OBD-II to USB converter...the software is what really makes it work.

As far as where to get one, RiffRaff has the best price you're going to find hands down....$360 with free shipping to the continental 48.

Im right with ya Zach injectors are not to bad I would have took the truck and done it myself to
one of my friends paid 1200.00 for just 2 injectors
he also sold it later for a Cumapart and now droping trannies right and left

part of his problem he does 0 reaserch and tunes them without any other mods at least thats how his ford went. right at the end the 6.0 he had was losing the tranny I told him it was the tunner but he didnt want to hear that so IDK

So lets say you did have a bad ICP sensor the proper way to verify would be hookup a mechanical gauge to the HPO to see if the ICP sensor is bad. sometimes a bad sensor is hard to spot unless it jumps wildly all over the place so a mechanical gauge verifys. AE or any gauge can only display what info its given be it right or wrong info
