I don't doubt that. I will see 21, hand fill check. Granted, this is 60 mph and not 70's but it was a solid 21 or slightly better...and I get BS called on it as well.

if I could figure out a way to drive 41 to 44 mph.... all the time
I would average a lot better then the 9 mpg I an now
I love looking at the lie o' meter when at the sweet spot of speeds-- 32 to 34 mpg
next best thing is 62-64 mph on the highway
averaged 26 mpg on long trips- summer/fall with #2 fuel
using the winter blend or #1, I just hate to even figure my mileage-- Like ah said, am only getting about 9 mpg right now

My ex's 2003 f250 i would average about 20mpg. I usually drove at 55. When she drove it would drop to about 15. She would floor it up to speed and loved to go well over the speed limit and then slam on the brakes. She would always complain about how she got badmileage. She wouldn't listen when i told her. Truck had almost 200k miles when we split up

2wd Excursion (Excursions are 2" lower than equivalent Superduty because Ford wanted soccer mom's to have a softer cushier ride - AND fit in the garage).
I've gone 951 miles on 45 gallons (filled up the 44 gallon tank and then drove to NC and then back to SC before needed to fill it) on a long drive to visit family (21 mpg) on the interstate going mostly 72/73 (actual MPH). That was with the paddle mirrors.
Now with an Atlas40 FICM, 08+ tow mirrors, I get just over 19 mpg doing the same thing.
I've averaged 15.5 MPG over the last 28k miles (3+ years tracked w/car maintenance APP on my phone, hence it's hand-calculated). My commute has gotten shorter and is all "small town" streets vs. 50% highway mileage in prior job (I'd averaged 17 MPG for the first 18 months on my former job).

I have 05 CC SB Lariat. Tonneau cover, egr delete, stock size tires. I run 70 PSI all the way around. I run Spartan aggressive street tune and drive the speed limit. I am pretty easy on the throttle, but do like to hear the turbo spool up every now and again. I run Rotella T6. I average 15 in the winter and 18 in the summer, mix of town and highway driving. Straight long road trips I usually get 19 mpg. I run Hot shot secrets EDT in the tank also. 4X4 btw. I don't know anyone with a truck newer than mine that gets any better mileage, most get worse!
