Question Pertronix on 226 Flat 6 ?

Anyone put a Pertronix unit on a 226 Falthead 6? If so, which model was the correct one, and what issues did you encounter/how has it worked?

TIA!

Pertronix on 226 Flat 6 ?

Tim,

So what ign are you using? I know of at least one guy who is using a Crane electronic ign on his 226, but Crane no longer warranties it for 6V usage. Pertronix says they may be able to get a part number, but I have to get the distributor number to do so, and to get that I have to remove the distributor, which I dont want to do if I dont have to. What are you running that "big" 254 in? They are hard to find!

I Wanted to bring this back to the top. Anyone have an answer for this problem? I would love to replace my points. I have always had positive results when doing so. Even in my VW bug.

That would be great. How does it work without the vaccuum performance wise?

The Pertronix Ignitor model 1266N6 is a point replacement module that is supposed to fit inside a stock 226 distributor. If you have a decent distributor and just want an electronic conversion, this should work.
