Have you tried dropping the belt and starting it to make sure there is not something going on with one of the belt driven parts?

That latest video sounded as if there was no oil flow or pressure to the top end/hydraulic lash adjusters.
He has yet to post his operating oil pressure.

Mine makes the same noise that gets louder under load and faster with rpms. The oil guage in my dash shows it above the halfway mark. (if it were gas it would be 3/4 full). Any ideas?

Timing chain tensioner and guides. That fix the problem. Buy a mechanic's stethoscope just 3 bucks at harbofreights

The dash gage is little more than an idiot light, it will read what you see at about 7 psi. The oil pressure needs to be verified with a mechanical gage at the oil pressure sender to get an accurate reading.

Bought a stethoscope. knocking is the same at each cylinder. Can hear it real well where the exhaust manifold connects to the exhaust piping. Doesn't sound any louder on either side. I can hear it clearer when underneath the car. Not sure if thats because All the noise from the fan and belts etc isn't there.

That sounds bad! You really need to verify the running at operating temp oil pressure, at an idle and under a load.

Gardengirls, can you post a video?, maybe we can point you in the right direction. I took apart the engine still in the vehicle (maybe I am exaggerating ) looking for bad bearings, exhaust manifolds leaks, Intake manifold leaks, new spark plugs, torque converter bolts, cracked flywheel, none of the above in my case, worn out timing chain guides was my problem and then tensioner had oil sludge on the back side preventing the piston to come out. If u can please post a video.

It just became due for an oil change. So I checked the oil. It was black and low. To the min line. Added some(not sure how much. I use the 5 qt jugs.) It was just changed 3000 miles ago with new filter. The video is after I put oil in.

It sounds like an exhaust manifold leak

Thanks.

Do I get that checked by an exhaust place or engine place?

Did you happen to watch the video of the noise upon shutdown and see the egr valve. Do I have anything I need to do with that?

I appreciate the help.

Took it to a muffler shop that does free diagnosis(it seems like everyone charges now days). Confirmed the exhaust manifold was cracked. Said bolts like to break off when replacing and it would be $1000 job.

Thanks for your help n pointing me in the right direction.

I will attempt to fix myself and soak the bolts overnight and hope they don't break off.

Buy PB Blaster, and spray those bolts 1 and or 2 days before.

I wouldn't pay $1000 for that job, they are crazy.

Good luck
